SAHS HOSA Hosts “Be The Match” event at football game vs Juan Diego on 10/12/18.
The Summit Academy High School HOSA (Future Health Professionals) Chapter is excited to partner with the “Be The Match” organization to provide the opportunity for members of the SAHS community to become registered as a bone marrow donor. Be The Match is an outreach organization operated by the National Marrow Donor Program, the largest and most diverse bone marrow donor registry in the world. Its purpose is to provide thorough, factual information about the process of bone marrow donation, and to facilitate entry of possible donors into the registry. Bone marrow donations are part of a life-saving therapy used to treat many leukemia and lymphoma patients. At the football game this Friday, HOSA members and advisors will help the Be The Match organization distribute and discuss information about the process of marrow donation and how you can become a life-saver. You must be 18 to 44 years of age to donate, but other opportunities to participate in this important effort are available for those of all ages. We encourage all who can make it Friday night to come and cheer on the Bears, and while you’re here, learn how you can provide the gift that so many leukemia and lymphoma patients need. For more information, contact Dr. Jay Marshall or Mrs. Kelly Jones at Summit Academy High School.
